Nutrition Consultations

A nutrition consultation involves a face-to-face interaction with Rebecca, with the purpose of achieving your nutrition goals.

The initial assessment (60 minutes) involves conducting a comprehensive nutrition assessment including anthropometry, biochemistry, clinical and dietary information to determine nutritional status and risk. The gathered data is used to inform the nutritional diagnosis and to develop sustainable strategies suitable for your individual lifestyle. Follow-up consultations (30 minutes) involves evaluating the effectiveness of the suggested strategies, exploring the barriers and enablers to implementing the suggested strategies, how to successfully sustain these lifestyle changes and formulating further ideas to achieve nutrition goals.

A GP’s referral with client health summary is preferred but not necessary. Medicare rebates of $52.95 are available for clients with a GP Chronic Disease Management Plan. Private health insurance rebates are available for clients with ancillary providers cover. Check with your insurance regarding rebates available.

After the initial consultation, you are able to request a Comprehensive Nutrition Report which includes your nutrition assessment, nutritional diagnosis, and energy and protein intake compared to your requirements. You can also request a Nutrient Analysis Report which consists of graphs and tables comparing your intake to all the recommended nutrient requirements. These reports are valued at $100 each.

Physique Assessments

A physique assessment involves taking skinfold, bone breadth and circumference measurements at various points of the body. The measurements obtained in physique assessments are a valuable tool for checking progress and determining changes in body composition attributed to physical activity and nutrition intervention. After the assessment, you will receive a report with your measurements, body type and body fat percentage.

Nutrition-Smart Seminars

Our interactive ‘Nutrition – Smart Seminars’ focus on the deciphering and application of nutrition principles and empower you to take control of your diet in a society where there are many inconsistent messages surrounding nutrition.

Examples of seminar topics:

  • Back to the basics: What is healthy eating?
  • What’s in your drink?
  • Label reading and selecting healthier alternatives
  • Accurate sources of nutrition information and debunking fads
  • Portion distortion
  • Timely and inexpensive healthy meals and snacks
