Dr Catherine Lyons

Catherine has looked after babies, children and teens in Emergency, as a GP in paediatric practice and has raised three boys of her own. She loves the challenges of helping families grow healthy resilient, curious and capable kids.

Catherine has 20 years’ experience as a GP after spending 10 years in emergency medicine. After graduating from the University of Melbourne, she trained in paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, as well as working in China and Africa with Medecins Sans Frontières.

Catherine is passionate about the health of children and families, facilitating safe and healthy pregnancies, as well as sexual health, travel health and mental health. She is an advocate for the health and wellness of the LGBTQIA+ community and has a particular interest in gender diverse and transgender adolescents and adults.

Our Glebe medical practice is fully GPA accredited – we meet the rigorous RACGP standards for general practices in Australia.
