Dr Deborah Saltman AM is a highly experienced General Practitioner with an extensive career spanning clinical practice, medical education and health system leadership.

She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MD), a Doctor of Medicine (PhD), and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), as well as a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine. She also has been recognised internationally as a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK).

Dr Saltman was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in recognition of her significant service to medicine, women’s health and general practice.

She also received the prestigious Rose-Hunt Medal, awarded for outstanding contribution to general practice. She holds professorial appointments at the University of New South Wales and Imperial College (London) and has taught at Harvard University Medical School.

Dr Saltman enjoys all aspects of general practice and has particular interest in chronic disease management, women’s health, weight management and LGBTQI+ care.

She brings a thoughtful and holistic approach to medicine, focusing on building strong, collaborative relationships with her patients and supporting them in achieving long-term health outcomes. Her broad experience across both clinical and academic settings allows her to integrate the latest evidence-based practices into everyday care.
